Changing your enrolment

Meeting the conditions of your offer

If you defer, suspend or cancel your enrolment, this may result in the cancellation of your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) and this may affect your student visa.

How to defer, suspend or cancel your enrolment

Defer your studies

If you wish to defer your commencement date of study you must obtain written approval from the University. Please contact us and quote your Applicant ID as well as the reasons for your request.

Suspend your studies

If you wish to suspend your program of studies (e.g. take a leave of absence) you must obtain written approval from Adelaide University. This is only allowed in very limited compassionate circumstances. Please refer to the University's Enrolment Policy for more information.

Cancel your enrolment

If you wish to withdraw or cancel your program you must give the University written notification. If you are a new/commencing student please contact us and quote your Applicant ID as well as the reasons for your request. For continuing students, please contact us for more information.

Change your program or education provider

If you wish to change providers prior to completing your first six months of your principal program of study at Adelaide University, you will need to apply for a release from the University. Please contact us  to be assessed. If you have been granted a student visa (subclass 500) and wish to change programs to a lower AQF level (e.g. Master to Bachelor), you will need to apply to the Department of Home Affairs for a new student visa.

  • Approved leave of absence
  • Unsatisfactory academic performance (e.g. preclusion)
