Can I extend my Overseas Student Health Care (OSHC) if I want to arrive in Australia early?
Last Modified: 12/Jul/2024
Your chosen Overseas Student Health Care (OSHC) should cover you for the duration of the time you are living within Australia.
To ensure you have adequate OSHC cover, you should select the start date of your cover to correspond with your planned arrival date in Australia (which is likely to be prior to the commencement date of your program) and end date to be about 60 days following the estimated completion date of your program. If you are unsure of your arrival date when arranging your OSHC, it is recommended that you select a date at least 28 days prior to the commencement date of your program.
Your OSHC provider will be able to support you in choosing the level cover and corresponding duration to suit your needs.
