Admission to an Adelaide University program as an international student requires you to be proficient in English. Your proficiency can by demonstrated by either:

  • passing an approved test
  • completing an Academic English program
  • meeting an approved alternative requirement.

Adelaide University accepts the following tests:

  • International English Language Testing System (IELTS) – Academic
  • Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic
  • Teaching of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) – iBT
  • Cambridge C1 Advanced test (previously Cambridge English: Advanced CAE)

Most of these tests have a validity of two years preceding the date of commencement.

If you have successfully completed year 12 in Australia with a passing grade in a recognised English as a Second Language or English Language subject or have successfully completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma you will meet the English language proficiency requirements.
