What is the Pre-Enrolment English Program (PEP)?

If you have not met the minimum English language requirement for your intended Adelaide University program, you may be eligible to undertake the Pre-Enrolment English Program (PEP) as a direct entry pathway.
The PEP is designed to support you to develop English language, communication, intercultural and learner initiative skills that can be applied in both an academic and professional context. The PEP will build your confidence and ability to actively participate in the academic and social culture of university through:
- participating in individual and group project work
- oral presentations
- reading, listening and note-taking
- participating in and leading tutorials
- building research and academic writing skills and understanding academic culture
- developing an action plan for personal language progress.
The PEP is tailored to your learning needs through various program lengths of 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 or 35 weeks. The extended 30 week and 35 week programs include General English for Academic Purposes (GEAP) classes to enable you to develop the linguistic fundamentals of grammar and vocabulary for academic study.
