A horticultural haven on the edge of the city fringe

Adelaide University’s Waite Campus is set in the Adelaide foothills on a sprawling 184 hectares just seven kilometres from the city centre. The campus is home to several agricultural, horticultural and viticultural industry partners focused on world-class research in a range of areas, including plant biotechnology and natural resource sciences. 

Waite Campus also features the Waite Arboretum occupying 27 hectares and containing about 2,500 specimens representing more than 800 plant species. Getting to Waite Campus is easy via one of the many nearby bus routes and there are also plenty of on-campus car parks for students, staff and visitors.

Enjoy hands-on learning in state-of-the art laboratories and greenhouses. You’ll have access to a range of contemporary study spaces and a dedicated central student common room where you can meet and socialise with your peers. Our well-equipped library features quiet study spaces for anyone to use and a comprehensive collection of agriculture, plant biotechnology, horticulture, viticulture and wine science books.

The on-campus café Beltana is open to staff, students and the public and offers both traditional and continental style food, catering to a range of tastes and dietary needs including vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free. If you prefer to bring your own snacks and meals, the student kitchen area is equipped with heat and eat facilities, including microwaves and boiling water.

With some of the best gardens in the state on campus, you’ll have plenty of green spaces to explore and relax in. You could also join a club or a team to meet like-minded people or keep fit in the well-equipped on-campus gym which is available for use by the entire Adelaide community.
