Getting to Adelaide University 

Whichever campus you’re headed to, you’ll find it easier than ever to get there. Between reliable public transport options, on-site parking, bike storage and end-of-trip facilities – you're able to choose the type of commute that best suits you.

South Australia’s public transport system is called Adelaide Metro and boasts an extensive network of buses, trains and trams. With all our metropolitan campuses accessible by public transport, this is an easy and affordable option.

To catch public transport, you will need to purchase an Adelaide metroCARD. University students studying full-time can purchase a concession metroCARD, which offers travel at a reduced rate.

All buses, trains and trams have various features to increase accessibility for all passengers. If you’re using a wheelchair or motorised mobility device, ramps are available to help you board and disembark easily. Priority seats and allocated mobility aid spaces are also available on board.

Cycling is a great way to get to your Adelaide University campus. Whether you’re an avid cyclist or simply prefer a more environmentally friendly mode of travel, Adelaide's level roads and abundant bike paths and lanes make for easy riding.

All our campuses offer a combination of open area racks and secure bike cage options for storing your bike. Suddenly find yourself with a flat tyre or other unexpected issue? No worries, most of our campuses also feature bike repair stations to help you get back on the road faster. You’ll also find end-of-trip facilities at each of our campuses, featuring storage lockers, private changing areas and shower facilities to help you refresh after your commute.

For those who prefer to drive, all Adelaide University campuses have parking facilities.

Parking at our city campuses

While parking available at our city campuses is limited, there are many commercial parking options close by that offer paid parking. The City of Adelaide owns and operates nine U-Park off-street carparks throughout the CBD, with over 6000 parking spaces. Ensuring your safety on campus is our top priority, which is why all our campuses have on-site security. Campus security is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Security officers patrol the campuses by day and offer even stronger protection at night. They are able to provide first aid or help in an emergency.
