International student scholarships

Adelaide University offers a range of scholarships to international students

For most scholarships, you will be automatically assessed when applying for an eligible undergraduate or postgraduate degree, however some scholarships have additional application requirements, excluded programs and terms and conditions that must be met in order to be eligible.

The Adelaide Academic Excellence Scholarship recognises international students commencing undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degrees who have achieved outstanding academic performance in their previous studies. 

This scholarship is a prestigious, highly competitive award offering a 50% tuition fee reduction. There are limited places for students with a high distinction average.

Value

You will receive a 50% tuition fee waiver for the duration of your degree.  

Eligibility

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

  1. be an international student;
  2. be applying to study a bachelor degree (minimum 96 units / 2 years equivalent) or a master degree (minimum 72 units / 1.5 years equivalent) at Adelaide University;
  3. satisfy one of the following in the qualification used as the basis of admission to the Adelaide University degree: 
    Undergraduate only
    : applicants with a minimum ATAR of 99 (or international equivalent). 
    Undergraduate and postgraduate: applicants with a minimum overall Grade Point Average (GPA) of 6.7 (on a 7.0 scale) or comparable score.
  4. not be applying to study one of the Excluded Programs (see terms and conditions);
  5. not be an Australia Awards recipient; and
  6. not be an International Sponsored Student entitled to a tuition fee waiver equal to or greater than the Scholarship Value, in which case the fee waiver amount will apply.  
    Note: a student cannot receive both a scholarship and a sponsor tuition fee waiver concurrently.

How to apply 

You will not be automatically assessed for this scholarship and will be required to submit a separate application form, available in mid-2025. 

Your application will be assessed by a selection panel based on merit. Successful recipients will be notified prior to commencement at Adelaide University.  

The Adelaide Emerging Leaders Award supports international students commencing undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degrees who demonstrate leadership qualities through strong academic achievement.

This scholarship offers a 25% tuition fee reduction and is automatically assessed and awarded to students with a distinction average.

You will receive a 25% tuition fee waiver for the duration of your degree.

The Adelaide Merit Scholarship supports international students commencing undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degrees who are committed to their academic achievement

This scholarship offers a 15% tuition fee reduction and is automatically assessed and awarded to students with a credit average.

The Adelaide Global Alumni Scholarship supports international students who have previously studied at Adelaide University, the University of South Australia or the University of Adelaide and are commencing an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree. 

This scholarship offers a 10% tuition fee reduction and is automatically assessed and awarded to eligible students.

Value
You will receive a 10% tuition fee waiver for the duration of your degree. Please note that this scholarship cannot be combined with any of the merit-based scholarships.

The Adelaide Partner Award supports international students commencing undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degrees.

This scholarship offers a 10% tuition fee reduction and is automatically assessed and awarded to students from an approved Adelaide University partner institution. 

Value
You will receive a 10% tuition fee waiver for the duration of your degree.  Please note that this scholarship cannot be combined with any of the merit-based scholarships.

Australian student scholarships

Adelaide University is pleased to offer a variety of scholarships dedicated to supporting domestic students throughout their studies. View the available scholarships below, and select the scholarship name to read more information and any applicable conditions.  

Scholarship Description
Adelaide University Vice Chancellor Scholarship A scholarship rewarding exceptional academic achievers. Recipients receive a stipend of up to $10,000 per annum and a 100% fee waiver for up to four years.
Adelaide University Future Leaders ScholarshipA scholarship recognising high academic achievers who demonstrate leadership potential and community service. Recipients will receive a stipend of up to $15,000 per annum for the duration of the degree.
Adelaide University Aspire ScholarshipA scholarship acknowledging academic achievers who demonstrate leadership potential and community service. Recipients will receive a stipend of up to $5,000 per annum for the duration of the degree.
Adelaide University Principals ScholarshipA scholarship rewarding students who have excelled in their school academically and exhibited qualities of active service to their school and/or community. Recipients are nominated by their school principal and will receive a stipend of up to $3,000 per annum for three years.
Adelaide University Attainment ScholarshipA scholarship supporting students who demonstrate leadership and active community service within a work, academic or community setting and are commencing university studies through a non-ATAR admissions pathway.
Adelaide University Career Catalyst ScholarshipA scholarship supporting students to upgrade their skills, with the support of an employer. Eligible recipients will receive a 30% fee waiver for the duration of their degree.
Adelaide University Postgraduate GrantA grant for students looking to enhance their career opportunities or change career direction by commencing a Master by coursework program. Recipients will receive a one-off payment of $5,000.
Adelaide University Access ScholarshipA scholarship supporting students who have demonstrated financial barriers to accessing post-secondary study. Recipients will receive an annual stipend of up to $6,000 per annum for the duration of the degree.
Adelaide University Online Grant A grant dedicated to students studying online and who have demonstrated financial barriers to accessing post-secondary study and/or reside in a rural, regional, or remote community. Recipients will receive a one-off payment of $1,500.
Adelaide University Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Leaders ScholarshipA scholarship acknowledging exceptional academic achievement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students who demonstrate leadership potential or active service in their school or community. Recipients will receive a stipend of up to $15,000 per annum for the duration of the degree.
Adelaide University Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Aspire ScholarshipA scholarship acknowledging academic achievement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students who demonstrate leadership potential or active service in their school or community. Recipients will receive a stipend up to $5,000 per annuum for the duration of the degree.
Adelaide University Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student ScholarshipA scholarship supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students who have demonstrated financial barriers to accessing post-secondary study. Recipients will receive an annual stipend of up to $6,000 per annum.
