English language entry requirements
In addition, international students who speak English as an additional language must have obtained one of the following standards within the last two years prior to admission. Possession of one or more of these qualifications, in addition to the academic entry requirements, does not, in itself, guarantee a place at Adelaide University. Applications are considered on an individual basis and selection is competitive. Where previous study/work experience was conducted in English, the application must be accompanied by certified documentation from the educational institution/employer certifying that the language of instruction/employment was English.

Overview
The Professional Certificate in Pragmatic Adaptive Educational Design equips educators with the knowledge and skills to design learning environments that are responsive, inclusive, and future-focused. Grounded in theories of complexity and practice, this program encourages participants to critically reflect on their own teaching and professional learning, while developing adaptive approaches that enhance student and teacher wellbeing. The learning in this program is workplace based and participants will learn to apply the skills of pragmatic adaptive design and an expansive approach to learning design that is heavily informed by theories of complexity and practice such as Activity Theory. They will then apply these skills to design anapply research in the areas of teacher wellbeing, digital technologies, culturally informed pedagogies, and positive and effective classroom environments. As a capstone activity the participants will develop a reflective portfolio of the design processes they have implemented.
Through a focus on culturally informed pedagogies, digital integration, and positive classroom environments, participants will learn to conceptualise and enact expansive educational design that supports both individual growth and school-wide renewal. The program fosters lifelong learning and professional excellence by combining theoretical insight with practical application, enabling educators to create meaningful, sustainable change in their contexts.
