Course overview

This introductory course surveys a range of literary forms, including prose fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry and writing for performance. It exposes students to creative writing habits, techniques and genres that they will build upon as the degree progresses. It introduces the creative writing workshop, a key facet of the creative writing process, and offers opportunities to develop skills in critical reflection and critique alongside creative writing production.
