Course overview

The aim is to provide students with a solid foundation in the fundamental principles and theoretical frameworks of statistics. The students will develop understanding of key statistical theories and principles underlying statistical inference. Through rigorous examination of probability theory and mathematical statistics, students will gain insight into the mathematical underpinnings of statistical methods. By delving into topics such as probability distributions, estimation, hypothesis testing, and asymptotic theory, students will develop the analytical skills necessary to comprehend and critique statistical models and methodologies. Ultimately, this course aims to equip students with a strong understanding of statistical theory, preparing them for further study in advanced statistical methods as well as to pursue research in diverse fields.
