Course overview
In this course, students will develop evidence-based assessment and management practices for clients requiring multimodal communication strategies and by using new technologies. Develop students' understanding of social, cultural, and international perspectives of disability or impairment that inhibits people's ability to communicate through conventional means involving both spoken and written communication. Students will integrate the use of multimodal communication theories and technologies to inform assessment and treatment practice.

- Formulate evidence-based assessment plans for clients requiring multimodal communication strategies.
- Appraise the theory and analyse client data to plan evidence-based management of clients requiring multimodal communication strategies.
- Attribute the role of the ICF in multimodal communication across the lifespan
- Planning culturally informed practice for multimodal communication strategies for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals with severe communication impairment
