Course overview
Critically review theory and evidence-based research, on intervention and management of stuttering and cluttering across the lifespan. Theory and research in stuttering and cluttering, assessment and management in people with stuttering or cluttering of different ages and cultures, principles of clinical decision-making, client-centered approach to intervention, World Health Organisation International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health framework (WHO ICF, 2018).
Course learning outcomes
- Integrate assessment data, theoretical models of speech-language processing to assess and treat stuttering and cluttering across the lifespan.
- Evaluate and synthesise assessment data and client factors to plan evidence-based management for clients who stutter or present with cluttering across the lifespan.
- Compare new technologies for the delivery of clinical services to individuals who stutter or present with cluttering.
- Interpret the impact of stuttering or cluttering on an individual, drawing on the WHO ICF (2018).
