Course overview

The aim of this course is to understand the impact of natural and built environments on those ageing or living with disablement.

Course learning outcomes

  • Demonstrate understandings of what constitutes positive and healthy living for ageing and disabled persons.
  • Describe how the natural and built environment can affect `ageing in place' and living with disablement.
  • Identify and evaluate age and disability friendly principles and apply these in practice.
  • Critically assess and evaluate policy and planning for mobility, autonomy, independence, and quality of life of ageing and disabled persons.
