Course overview
This course aims to equip students with advanced knowledge about psychological assessment and interventions in the context of physical health. Building on introductory knowledge and skills in psychological assessment and interventions and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, the course covers specific assessments relevant to health behaviours and health psychology as well as introduces additional psychological interventions beneficial for people needing assistance for health behaviours and/or health conditions. Students will gain advanced knowledge and practice in applying culturally responsive psychological assessments and interventions for psychological disorders in the context of physical health, which is essential preparation for becoming a registered psychologist.
