Course overview
This course is designed to provide students with both advanced theoretical and practical knowledge with a focus on complex, severe and enduring psychological disorders. It focuses on skill acquisition in evidence-based interventions, building upon and extending the cognitive behaviour therapy knowledge and skills developed. The course will focus on clinical psychology practice with an emphasis on students developing a critical approach to various clinical, and professional practice issues, including psychotherapy process and treatment approaches for complex clinical presentations. It will focus on understanding and responding to issues with engagement and resistance in therapy. Opportunities to develop clinical knowledge in these areas will occur through case analysis, simulation, practical rehearsal (role-play) and individualised feedback.

- Demonstrate advanced knowledge in the selection and tailoring of evidence-based interventions according to a culturally informed case formulation
- Demonstrate appropriate consultation and collaboration with a range of professions, and understanding in how they enhance client outcomes
