Course overview
This course aims to develop students’ competencies in locating, critically evaluating, and applying research to use evidence to inform practise in psychology. Building on students’ skills, knowledge and abilities from their undergraduate degree/s, students will extend knowledge to understand how to use research in real world settings to apply to decision making and evaluation of treatment for clients. A core emphasis will be on the ethics of research in practise.
Course learning outcomes
- Critically evaluate contemporary scientific literature to inform practice
- Produce a written report that summarises the investigation of a substantive individual research question relevant to the discipline of psychology
