Course overview
This course aims to develop an advanced understanding of the causes, symptoms and treatments of the major psychological disorders across the lifespan and promoting whole-person health and well-being in individual, group and population contexts. Students will apply this knowledge in the context of simulated cases based on different developmental stages (childhood, young adulthood, middle age and older adults) across different settings (including organisations) and to illustrate a variety of health behaviour and psychological health considerations at different stages of life. Material will engage learners to encourage reflexivity, consideration of culturally appropriate approaches, and sensitivity to the diversity of individuals.
