Course overview
Students will explore core knowledge, skills and attitudes relevant to physiotherapy management of common neurological problems. The emphasis will be on evidence-based assessment and intervention for people living with neurological dysfunction across the lifespan and in various health care settings. Using an enquiry-based learning approach, case examples will include, but not be limited to stroke, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's Disease, Spinal Cord Injury, and brain injury. the World Health Organisation International Classification of Function Disability and Health will provide a framework that supports a person-centred focus. Students will learn in a blended setting, with face-to-face classes supported by guided online activities.

- Apply safe, case-specific assessments of common neurological problems in a variety of healthcare settings.
- Apply case-specific analysis and interpretation of assessment findings for common neurological conditions to produce prioritised problem lists and negotiate patient-centred goals.
- Devise and justify appropriate interventions based on best available evidence for common neurological conditions.
- Apply a range of therapeutic interventions commonly used in neurological physiotherapy safely and effectively in Interprofessional environments.
- Review and reflect on personal professional practice to support continued improvement and high-quality practice outcomes.
