Course overview
Neoliberalism is a pivotal concept in contemporary discussions about the global political economy. This course aims to familiarise students with the origins, theories, and applications of neoliberalism globally. It commences by delving into the foundational principles of neoliberal thought, followed by an exploration of the institutional and social changes that have occurred since the neoliberal revolution, alongside alterations in economic structures and the mechanisms of capital accumulation across the world. Throughout the course, students encounter diverse scholarly perspectives on neoliberalism and its different manifestations, culminating in an analysis of its role in global crises and its future trajectories.
