Course overview
Students will develop skills in designing rigorous quantitative research to inform knowledge, practice, management and policy in health-related fields. Quantitative research process and problem/hypothesis selection in health care research; critical appraisal tools for evaluating methodological quality of quantitative research designs; quantitative research standards; descriptive study designs; experimental study designs (randomised controlled trials, clinical trials); quasi-experimental study designs; internal and external validity; descriptive statistics; inferential statistics; quantitative data analysis software; implication of quantitative research for evidence based healthcare practice.
