Course learning outcomes

  • Synthesise person-centred nursing care and its application and relevance to interdisciplinary health service delivery
  • Critically evaluate individual knowledge, skills, attitudes, behaviours, and resilience in preparation for transition to professional practice
  • Critically evaluate the role of the beginning registered nurse in the provision of safe, quality health care that complies with professional and organisational standards
  • Design an early career plan to support transition to professional practice and to meet continuing professional development requirements of a registered nurse
  • Apply the principles of clinical governance, quality improvement and risk management in the provision of safe, quality nursing care
  • Critically evaluate the role of the registered nurse in providing clinical leadership, delegation, and supervision, including the factors that promote effective leadership and teamwork in nursing
  • Critique the application of health informatics by registered nurses in health care settings
