Course overview

This course expands on Virtual Reality Design and Development I by applying core design theory to immersive technology development. Allocated project work will provide students with an opportunity to gain insight into the specific roles associated with VR creation, as well as a deeper understanding of game engines, spatial sound, programming and 3D modelling.

Course learning outcomes

  • Classify the roles and responsibilities within current VR, MR and AR development frameworks.
  • Apply appropriate design theory/methodologies for immersive technology development from a project-oriented perspective.
  • Formulate and manage a production schedule orientated specifically towards immersive technology
  • Demonstrate intermediate literacy in game engine use
