Course overview
This intensive course is an introductory French course for students of viticulture and oenology and is taught at the Waite Campus. It closely mirrors the course content of Beginners French, FREN 1003/1004, but also contains study of a specialised reading component designed for students of viticulture and oenology, with language specific to the wine industry. Beginners French introduces students to the language and culture of contemporary France. In addition to intensive language training in the four basic skills - listening, speaking, reading and writing - various aspects of French society and culture will be introduced through audio and video extracts and short texts. The emphasis throughout will be on communicative skills, both oral and written.
