Course overview

This course will introduce students to the design principles and elements of architectural structures and construction as they pertain to Interior Architecture over a broad range of scales. Students will develop knowledge in the construction of interior architecture including fundamental structural elements and joints; principles and concepts of interior architectural structures; the influence of the structure in the definition and quality of space and form. Students will be introduced to construction terminology and develop skills to communicate construction techniques and strategies in drawings and models.
