Course overview

The aim of this course is to ensure students have relevant industry experience prior to graduation. All students must complete a period of work placement in a relevant information management organisation prior to graduation in the Graduate Diploma or Masters of Information Management. This requires a minimum of 2 weeks of work placement (75 hours) in a relevant organisation, which would normally be obtained during the final study period of the program to satisfy the accrediting bodies. Assessment in the course Information Management Experience Reports will remain incomplete until the student submits a written report and receives a pass. Students who can provide documentary evidence of current relevant employment will be exempt from this work placement but are still required to complete a report. Forms, templates and instructions are available on the course learn online site for the study period in which students are enrolled.
There is an application process for undertaking a placement or applying for an exemption. All forms and templates are available on the course learnonline site for the study period in which students enrol.
