Course overview
In this course, students will develop the skills required to plan, configure, maintain, and scale a routed network. Content includes: Routing services; IPv6; Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP and EIGRPv6) advanced; Open shortest Path First Protocol (OSPFv2 and OSPFv3) advanced; Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) basic and advanced; Implementing Path Control - Route Redistribution; Manipulating Routing Updates - Route Maps and; Policy Based Routing; VRFs, MPLS and MPLS Layer 3 VPNs; Routing for Branch Offices and Mobile Workers - Dynamic Multipoint VPNs, securing Dynamic Multipoint VPN tunnels.
Course learning outcomes
- Recommend a routing protocol that best suits a specified enterprise network design.
- Document an implementation plan which includes determining the most appropriate including IP addressing, routing, and other advanced protocols which would be to be used by a network engineer.
- Configure routers and switches to meet best practice network requirements.
- Investigate, diagnose, and rectify network problems.
- Summarise and justify the tasks involved in configuring a range of network solutions to meet specific requirements.
