Course overview

To apply the principles of effective data management to address the challenges in managing large amounts of mission-critical data in complex information systems.

Course learning outcomes

  • Effectively manage enterprise data through the application of data quality principles, the adoption of standards and consideration of integration and interoperability issues
  • Analyse data structures and processes of creating, storing and retrieving corporate data.
  • Critically evaluate tradeoffs in master data management and data warehouse design and implementation
  • Develop appropriate enterprise data and information management strategies with consideration of issues relevant to a particular business context
  • Apply the principles of enterprise data management to develop effective information architectures and governance strategies
