Course overview
The aim of this course is to provide students with both theoretical understanding and hands-on skills in evaluating software quality. This includes learning various techniques for verification, validation and testing. Students will explore the significance of software quality assurance (SQA) throughout the software development lifecycle. Additionally, they will develop practical abilities in selecting suitable SQA tools for specific projects and integrating these tools effectively into the software development process.
Course learning outcomes
- Software development lifecycle, the importance of software quality assurance (SQA) tools (verification and validation) and their place in software development lifecycle
- Software requirements and specifications, validation and verification processes
- Static software verification and testing
- SQA tool chains, including software testing tools, version control systems and issue tracking systems
- Software testing methodologies: unit testing, integration testing, system testing, and acceptance testing
- Test coverage, analysis of test results and feedback loops in development lifecycle
