Course overview

To enable students to define the architecture, design, management and or controls that assure the security of business environments.

Course learning outcomes

  • Understand access control concepts, methodologies and their implementation across an organisation's computing environment.
  • Develop a range of policies related to securing an organisations information assets with consideration of the guidelines, standards and procedures to support to policies.
  • Apply a comprehensive and rigorous method for describing a current and/or future structure and behaviour for an organisation's security processes and systems.
  • Develop business continuity and disaster recovery plans specifying the preparation, testing and updating of specific actions to protect critical business processes from the effect of major system and network failures.
  • Ensure compliance with regulator frameworks while using investigative measures and techniques to gather forensic evidence.
  • Design physical security measures to deny physical access to unauthorised personnel.
