Course overview

This course aims to provide students with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in ethical hacking. Building upon the foundational knowledge already gained, this course will equip students with the knowledge and skills required to assess the security posture of computer systems and networks through offensive tactics, identify weaknesses, and mitigate potential cyber security threats while adhering to legal and ethical frameworks. 

Course learning outcomes

  • Apply knowledge of ethical hacking and cyber operations to assess the security posture of computer systems and networks
  • Analyse security weaknesses in order to conduct effective penetration testing and vulnerability assessments
  • Evaluate the legal and ethical considerations associated with hacking and cyber operations to make informed decisions and adhere to established guidelines
  • Design and propose advanced countermeasures to mitigate cyber security threats
  • Create solutions by applying critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify, analyse and respond to complex cyber security challenges and incidents
