Course overview

This course aims to equip you with knowledge and skills to analyse the human aspects of cyber security. Building upon introductory concepts of cyber security, the course covers topics such as identity management, social engineering, organisational and societal behaviours. By investigating the human factors of cyber risk, students will develop problem-solving skills essential for identifying key strategies to address the human factors that underlie cyber risk; mitigating cyber risk through people solutions; building a cyber awareness campaign.

Course learning outcomes

  • Describe the concepts and theories relevant in the human aspects of cyber security
  • Analyse human cyber competencies to raise cyber hygiene levels

  • Develop an asset for educating users and organisations about cyber hygiene
