Course overview
In this course, students will apply project management concepts, principles and skills in order to effectively manage small, medium and large, complex IT projects. IT project management concepts and frameworks; the role of the project manager; conceptualising and visualising projects in terms of the overall cycle from initiation through to sign off; project management processes and knowledge areas; project management tools and techniques; interfaces between the project manager and various stakeholders.
Course learning outcomes
- Critically review current project management knowledge areas and practices.
- Engage in project management processes that align with established methodologies.
- Collaboratively develop a project plan for a large scale IT project.
- Communicate and justify a project plan to appropriate stakeholders.
