Course overview
This course will introduce the study of human behaviour as it relates to cyber security including both practical and theoretical aspects of behavioural analysis, and an analysis of business models and criminological theories designed to modify behaviour. In this course students will: investigate the human factors of cyber risk; identify key strategies to address the human factors that underlie cyber risk; mitigate cyber risk through people solutions; build a cyber awareness campaign.
Course learning outcomes
- Assess personality characteristics of victims, hackers and defenders, to develop policies, procedures and guidelines that support organisations' sustainability goals.
- Categorise and evaluate different cybercrime business models to assess the impact of corporate, social and ethical responsibilities.
- Apply critical and ethical awareness of human factors to develop effective policies that protect against common cyber threats.
- Evaluate the potential success of proposed regulatory and resource efficiency approaches to behaviour modification using ethical frameworks.
- Design a strong cybersecurity awareness program to increase the organisations and the enterprises ability to safeguard its information.
