Course overview
This course aims to foster a critical understanding of the role and functions of human resource activities within multinational enterprises (MNEs). It explores the strategic management of human resources in multinational companies, to address key issues encountered in international contexts. Topics include strategic issues in international human resource management, expatriate management, and the intersection of human resource management with international business strategy and structure, encompassing recruitment, compensation, training, performance management, and industrial relations. Through an examination of the context, strategies, and functional aspects of human resource management in international settings, students gain insights into global workforce dynamics, labour regulations, and the complexities of managing diverse talent pools.
