Course overview
To introduce students to sociological concepts and theories as well as develop essay writing skills utilised in the social sciences.
Course learning outcomes
- Describe the nature of the social sciences and the contribution they make to the analysis of culture and society
- Define some major theoretical frameworks within the social sciences
- Explain how social sciences analyse the relationship between an individual and society
- Explain how social sciences analyse the relationship between an individual and society
- Identify some of the major structural elements of societies, with particular reference to Australian society
- Use methods of argument and styles of writing appropriate for the social sciences

If you are an international student, or a domestic student studying in a full fee paying place, and are continuing study that you commenced in 2025 or earlier, your fees will be available here before enrolments open for 2026.
