Course overview

This course will build on principles of exercise and sport science to objectively and subjectively analyse performance and player monitoring. Practical skills in performance analysis; analysis of game demands; use of performance analysis tools, such as GPS and video analysis technology to analyse individual and team performances.

Course learning outcomes

  • Demonstrate knowledge in the use of a variety of notational and motion analysis systems employed in the applied sport science environment.
  • Evaluate notational and motion analysis data and generate reports for appropriate end-users.
  • Complete an in-depth analysis of a chosen sport from a performance analysis perspective.
  • Demonstrate ability to analyse, interpret and apply information from GPS athlete tracking devices.
  • Use and apply subjective analog scales (RPE etc) to monitor sport performance.
