Course overview
This course aims to equip students with advanced knowledge and skills on vibration theory, modelling and analysis of complex mechanical systems. Building upon fundamental vibration concepts introduced earlier, the course delves into system modelling via the use of energy analysis and its application to complex continuous and multi-DOF vibrating systems, and analysis of nonlinearities in vibrations. By employing this knowledge, students will develop complex problem-solving skills to address vibrations and dynamics of Micro- Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS). This course aligns with the program intent to provide in-depth understanding of vibration theory and modelling, preparing learners to devise robust mechanical machines/systems.
