Course overview
The aim of this course is to equip learners with the critical skills, knowledge, and professional insights necessary to excel in the engineering field. It serves as an essential bridge between academic theory and practical application, preparing learners for real-world in-industry experiences and future career development. In this course, learners will reflect on their preparedness to become engineers. It will prepare them for securing in-industry experience, obtaining graduate employment, managing professional relationships, and effectively navigating the professional world and career transitions in the future.

- Evaluate diverse engineering career pathways to be able to identify and engage with relevant job opportunities
- Demonstrate professional communication and interpersonal skills by formulating and presenting impactful job applications, and developing networking strategies to enhance employment prospects
- Identify organisational culture dynamics and their impact on the workplace, including ethics, diversity, inclusivity, and the integration of First Nations considerations in the engineering professional context
- Prepared for the transition from academic settings to professional environments, equipped with knowledge of employment norms, workplace health and safety, professional workplace expectations, and either having sourced a placement or actively engaging in the process of sourcing a placement
- Examine and critically reflect on their own development in comparison to that of a professional engineer and assess their career preparedness
