Course overview
This course covers real time systems in modern electrical and electronic engineering. Systems that provide time-bound response are prevalent in many industrial applications. This course uses the C as the teaching programming language. Important issues for Real Time systems are explored: synchronisation, communication and scheduling. Concepts are illustrated and reinforced through simulation of a Real Time system. Assessments include computer laboratory exercises, a quiz and a final examination.
