Course overview

The aim of the course is to provide an advanced knowledge of the construction and working principles of electrical machines like as permanent magnet and switched reluctance machines. Steady state models of electric machines will be studied and developed using analytical methods and finite element simulation.  In addition, control strategies for the drive will be discussed. The course emphasizes the design principles, topology, and materials (classical and recently developed ones) for low and high power applications.
