Course overview

This course provides students with knowledge and embodied experiences to plan, implement, assess and evaluate learning in Health and Physical Education, and Design and Technologies.

Course learning outcomes

  • Demonstrate application of principles of lesson planning for broad learner outcomes
  • Evaluate strategies to foster enjoyment, engagement and inclusive participation in physical education and design technologies
  • Critically analyse current national and international Design and Technologies and Health and Physical Education curriculum content and material
  • Appraise a model of teaching based on critical principles of pedagogy and apply these to plan and teach a sequence of engaging and success-oriented learning episodes in Health and Physical Education and Design and Technologies
  • Critically evaluate learning experiences in Design and Technologies and Health and Physical Education according to specified outcomes and inclusive practices
  • Analyse literacy, numeracy and Indigenous perspectives embedded in HPE & D&T
