Course overview

To develop a deep, conceptual and foundational content knowledge in both civics and citizenship and economics and business enabling students to apply and connect these two subjects into the teaching of history and geography. 

Course learning outcomes

  • Understand and apply knowledge of the Australian Curriculum HaSS: Civics & Citizenship and Economics & Business to plan relevant and engaging learning experiences and quality assessment
  • Identify the connections between HaSS: Civics and Citizenship and Economics and Business with History and Geography
  • Understand pedagogical content knowledge involved in teaching HaSS: Civics and Citizenship and Economics and Business including out of school activities
  • Integrate Civics and Citizenship and Economics and Business into the teaching of History and Geography through content knowledge, concepts, skills and achievement standards
