Course overview
In this course, preservice teachers will develop and apply their professional knowledge, implement professional practice and enact professional engagement as emerging graduate teachers in the relevant education setting. Preservice teachers will investigate the nature of teachers' work including evidence-based teaching and learning practice. Preservice teachers will develop positive, effective classroom environments appraising the importance of collaboration, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation in this process. Preservice teachers will evaluate the centrality of teacher-student relationships in influencing learning and for building connections with parents/caregivers. The preservice teacher will explore and negotiate the complexity of the supervisor relationship, they will plan learning experiences for students in various class configurations and apply appropriate curriculum documentation. Preservice teachers will develop assessment strategies with an emphasis on prior knowledge, formative assessment and timely feedback and strategies for reflective and reflexive practice.

- Build positive learning environments and display effective professional relationships and dispositions with students, parents/caregivers and colleagues in schools
- Design and implement a plan for teaching, assessing and evaluating inclusive teaching practices across units of work
- Implement and manage the daily tasks, routines and administrative duties associated with the work of teachers in an ethical manner
- Critically reflect on teaching and learning experiences, from multiple perspectives and in light of their emerging personal philosophy of teaching
