Course overview

This course will build and extend students' capabilities to creatively implement individualised pedagogies as part of programs for middle and secondary students. Students will critically appraise contemporary developments in curriculum and pedagogy directed towards expanding the range of educational offering available to young people in middle and senior secondary settings. The students will then apply this knowledge to creatively consider and design approaches to implementing understanding personalised pedagogies within school communities.

Course learning outcomes

  • Critically analyse the construction of secondary school curricula in terms of the inclusion of personalised approaches to learning
  • Assess curriculum and teaching/facilitation practices applicable to implementing personalised approaches to learning across a range of subjects in the secondary curriculum
  • Develop a range of resources and strategies to support personalised learning in secondary settings
  • Demonstrate application of research principles and strategies relevant to personalised learning in secondary curricula
