Course overview

This course will take an analytical and critical perspective on how evidence-based practice (EBP) and evidence-informed practice (EIP) are used in educational settings. We will look at the growth of evidence-based policy and practice, the debates within educational reform, the emergence of evidence-informed practice (EIP) and practical examples of evidence to inform teaching practice. Students will learn how evidence-informed practice can be applied for different purposes across a range of settings, developing their capacity to critically evaluate resources used in evidence-based practice and critically appraise the nature and application of evidence to inform teaching practice.
