Course overview

To engage students with the gospels as core sacred texts in the Christian tradition, with a particular focus on teaching, learning and formation in Catholic educational settings.  

Course learning outcomes

  • Describe and compare the origins, contexts, worldviews of each gospel
  • Examine and compare the distinctive theology of each gospel
  • Analyse and interpret selected gospel passages, utilising the 'three worlds of the text' approach
  • Explore and apply contemporary Catholic biblical scholarship and interpretive principles in personal and educational settings
