Course overview
In this course, students will apply knowledge, skills and make directorial choices to demonstrate an understanding of planning and assessment for SACE and large group productions; appropriate content, methodologies, materials, processes and curricula within an educational environment. Students will workshop directorial techniques, rehearsal strategies, performance and production elements, design elements and the use of space. This knowledge will be enhanced with a fieldwork opportunity with a theatre director or Stage 2 Drama teacher. Attendance at three contrasting theatre productions will occur and to complete the course, students will direct a small cohort of peers as part of a 30-minute practical demonstration to assess skills, knowledge and techniques within the SACE Stage 2 Group Production framework.
