Course overview
In this course, students will develop an understanding of the concepts of language and culture and their relationship in learning an additional language. Preservice teachers will investigate how knowledge of language and culture is developed in learning an additional language. Preservice teachers will explore how principles of intercultural language teaching and learning apply in diverse contexts.
Course learning outcomes
- Investigate the interrelationship of language and culture in language learning and use
- Evaluate how language is used in social and cultural practices
- Analyse experiences in language learning in diverse contexts
- Evaluate examples of an intercultural orientation to language learning in practice

If you are an international student, or a domestic student studying in a full fee paying place, and are continuing study that you commenced in 2025 or earlier, your fees will be available here before enrolments open for 2026.
