Course overview
In this course, students will develop a deep, conceptual and foundational content knowledge in both civics and citizenship and economics and business enabling them to apply and integrate these two subjects into the teaching of History and Geography. Students will further develop a valid, practical and engaging approach to integrating the content and skills of these subjects into the history and geography curriculum in a meaningful and educationally valid manner. They will study units of work that will provide deep understanding of the content, concepts and skills of the Australian Curriculum: Civics and Citizenship and Business and Economics. Links to other subjects within HaSS will be apparent through the use of out of school activities and the like.

- Proficient content knowledge base to teach the Australian Curriculum: Economics and Business
- Identify the connections between Civics and Citizenship and Economics and Business with History and Geography
- Capacity to integrate Civics and citizenship and Economics and Business into the teaching of History and Geography through content knowledge, concepts, skills and achievement standards
- Skill development in the areas of group work and discussion relevant to the teaching of Civics and Citizenship and Economics and Business learning
- Practical and out of school opportunities to extend the learning about Civics and Citizenship and Economics and Business
- Awareness of the resources available for quality Civics and Citizenship and Economics and Business learning and program design
