Course overview

This advanced course in development economics deepens critical thinking, reasoning, and mathematical problem-solving by using economic analysis to investigate the origins of uneven patterns of economic development, as well as policies that can be applied in developing countries and how we can measure their effectiveness. Topics typically include productivity effects of health, private and social returns to education, child labour, public finance, firms and contracts, and the markets for land, credit and savings.
